According to Chabilal Kami, his family lives in Khotang District of Nepal. His elder brother lives separately with his own family. He has two elders and one younger sister. All his sisters are now married and live with their own family. Now he lives with his wife, son and three daughters along with a youngest unmarried brother. He says that his home is in a distance of 3 days walk from the main road and is a single storey, hay roofed.

Due to his financial difficulty, he had loaned 15 thousand Rupees, nearly 750 QR. for managing his house problems. But he was not able to payback the loan at his due time. In his own word, he is uneducated, and of low caste. The so called high caste people have always treated him and his family low. In his village he has to work at the house of high caste people, in return he gets grains as his payments. He has some lands where he grows maize and millet. But most of the months after the maize and millet ripen the land stay bare.

He has a son of age 14, and three daughters of age 12, 7 and 5 respectively. He himself is a victim of stomach problem. Due to his low financial profile, and to pay his debt, he decided to set off for foreign country in intention of earning. He again loaned 1 lakh rupees for preparing his passport, agent service charge and other necessary things.

The agents, from Ocean Manpower, Nepal, told him that he was appointed as a Hotel Cleaner in Al Quds Cleaning Co. W.L.L. But later in Qatar, he was forced to accept the labour job, in Al Saqueh Building Project Co. W.L.L. He was promised 650 QR. monthly there. He did the Labour job until the company collapsed after 7 months of their employment. The company didn’t pay him any salary. Even his passport and visa were not returned. He has 7 month’s due salary in that company.

He intends to stay here in Qatar, if he is provided legal permit to work. He says he wants to pay his loan and save some money to take back home.
