I just gave birth last Aug 13 after my ECV failed and i have a CS. i was just discharged yesterday. as we are now processing for our Baby's Birth Certificate, the National Health Authority (which is now located Hamad City instructed us to go to the CID Office in Bu hamour for approval)

Could anybody tell me where is the location of CID office for approval for processing of birth. Me and my Husband is under different sponsor and NHA requires the approval of the Police.

your knowledge and response to this is highly appreciated.
Thank you.

My wife's not under my sponsorship but our daughter was born here so under spouse's sponsorship is not an issue.

Anyway you still have 2 months time to process everything,by the way are you sure they've told you ABU HAMOUR? cause when i picked up my daughter's birth certificate it is in ABU SAMRA, in industrial its too far and it will take you an hour to reach there.

You need to get your wife a sponsor first prior to applying for a residence visa of your baby.

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

coelacanth thanks for the procedure. the CID for birth certificate claim is located in Salwa road near American baSE. Unfortunately we have been asked to returned 5 times and we are to return again tomorrow i am just hoping that we can get the Birth cert. the captain in charge says that the PRO only collect the Birth certificates from NHA not often so we just have to wait.

noor2...

my husband salary is higher than the needed range.

i will update you if there will be any progress on my baby's birth certificate.

Second: police has to certificate the birth of a child?

The child is here? Can they denegate the certification?

"No, no... the child hasnt born in Doha"

Hi Angel, don't worry too much. It is just a standard procedure if you are not under your husband sponsorship.

Just make sure you have all the documents like marriage cert., id, passport and visa for both of you and your husband. Better if you can go together with your husband in CID. And i believe there should be a receipt that NHA will give you once they finished processing the Birth registration process.

Good luck & congrats on your new born.

complete the baby's paperwork as soon as possible. The three main steps are obtaining the baby's birth certificate, heading to your embassy to apply for a passport and, once passport is in hand, applying for a residency permit. According to Hukoomi, the Qatari government's website, this process must be completed within two months of the child's birth. Not meeting this deadline could result in fines and prevent a family from taking their baby out of the country.

HASMUB ..how can the baby have the Passport with BC?

I dont understand why they are asking for the CID approval.....as the baby is already born in Qatar... HMC has proof...so why CID clerance?

2 yrs ago there was not this CID approval.

Hasmub... #2 is Not Applicable coz nowhere will you find a baby's name added in the passport of the parent(if there is, then i will stand corrected).

#3 You need a Birth Certificate in order to apply for the baby's passport...that is the question of the poster as to WHERE to GET.

#4. That's true, and you should add that they should have a valid marriage certificate.

#5 Not at all true.

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

I think there is an exception on number 5 coz our secretary gave birth and did all those processing even if her sponsor is our company and not under her husband

1) The baby should be less than 3 months.

2) The baby should have a passport or his / her name should be added in the passport of any one of the parent.

3) To produce original birth certificate of the baby.

4) The parents should have a valid residence visa in Qatar.

5) The mother of the baby should be on the sponsorship of husband (Father of baby).

This is as per the moi.gov.qa

If they say it's in Abu Hamour, there is a police station behind the Woqod Petrol Station (R/A going to the church). It's beside the Immigration - Abu Hamour Branch. If it's still not clear to you, it's beside the MES Indian School.

As far as my understanding, you need to get your baby's birth certificate at the CID office on Salwa Road (near American Base, 500m (i think) after Safari Hypermarket). That's where i got my daughter's BC 3yrs ago (i know, a lot of things might have changed)

You have to bring somebody's passport as a guarantor before they would release your baby's BC. This is just an assurance in case the immigration did not approve your baby's visa. In order for you to recover the passport of your guarantor, you need to present a booked flight for the baby and whoever is coming along, that is, if it gets rejected. If not, show them the baby's visa and you can get the passport back.

just my 2 cents.

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

Is that a new procedure or are you married legally or not? Ask your husband about this first, before going to the CID

Your hubby should be the one who will get busy on hanky panky things like this. Not you as a wife. Wish your baby good health.

I really don’t know the answer for your query..

But one thing I know.....you are not supposed to sit in front of a PC if you had a CS few days back…. you will find some complication like back pain later…better give yourself enough rest!!
