Hello!everyone I'm going to be 2 years here in qatar as I would finish my contract this coming July, but the problem is last July 2012 my employer let me sign a new contract in order to change my profession in my RP/Visa because when I enter their company last July2011 my visa is secretary and I'm working there as a nurse so they decided to change it last JULY2012 but sad to say right now I still have a secretary RP/Visa. And I would like to finish my old contract this coming July2013. Would I be bridging contract? Because before I signed the new contract I asked them and they tell me that the old contract would still be valid and it's up to me if im going to extend or not. I'm really confused right now and I don't know what to do or should I go to the Ministry of Labour which is harder for me because I can't speak arabic and they will not entertain my queries. Please do help me. Thank you!

if you finish contract but first you need to advise them 3months before your contract expires that you will no longer renew your contract. then after you should receive those and esp your employment certificate.

Yes,I will just finish my old contract I can't take it anymore and for family problem as well I need to go home. So my other question is if I would just finish the old contract would I still be able to get my 2years gratuity,my 2years annual leave and plane ticket? And mostly especially employment certificate Or I would be going home empty handed?...thanks!

company nurse is better than secretary, when you signed the new contract it means the old is not anymore valid, the new contract will always prevail.

There is no harm in resigning before the end of the contract and one month written notice should be provided. The only problem you may face is the current employer will not grant you NOC which means you will have to go back to your country and wait for sometime.

it wont apply since you already signed a new contract and from this if you breach the contract youll have to face the consequences, they can file a case against you.

think twice before signing...
