Harm... I can only say someones child is not to make fun about and there are many threads for you to play around... not necessary and their is no compulsion for you to post on every thread...u can always avoid if you think you have nothing useful to contribute... and I suppose you are grown up enough to distinguish where you playfulness can be appreciated and where not... cyberspace dosen't mean only crap...some times it can be used for purpose also... ________________________________________

easily refer to a website that touts itself as having information about the country -- especially when she is not in her home country with her usual support system.

I don't find Brit's remark funny but understand that there is a certain type of mentality that would.

Sorry..

respectfully yours, in cyberspace. 'the other reality'.

Legal,

I agree with your statement.

However, cyberspace remains public and communication, certain questions, draw certain personalities.

Me, I like to 'fool around' in cyberspace as I do not take it as a serious 'place' or 'reality', nor would I ever vent personal issues here. You should understand that ANY inquiry, regardless of the subject, can draw one or two, or more, reactions of people like me that do not see cyberspace as a serious surrounding, hence might place an innocent remark that is taken way to serious by people like PM that have exchanged 'reality' for cyberspace.

As stated, post to all.... expect all.

When you have your family, and you don;t have all the answer too your child behavior, sometimes is good to go around asking others in this web site, specially when you have no friends or do not know nothing about your surroundings or what to do.

At one time Qatar living was based on the needs of the family, knowledge and information for all.

There Is one thing you have to understand Qatar is mostly Arab, telephone directories do not have yellow pages and the word help is very remote or just a small interest to many.

There has being cases people are pledging for help, and we fail not to recognized the first symptoms of trouble. I'm very guilty of judging others, later I did find out that person in reality was just asking for a little help and compassion as a human.

I don't agree at all with your comment

PM...

A mother concerned of her child does not refer to a simple site like QL. Period (even if she has it).

Brit, very funny remark, I laughed.

expect all.

And for those of you who are saying a 7 year old ...

shouldn't need a psychiatrist, you obviously are not educated and trained in the field. Very young children can suffer from all sorts of psychiatric disorders and chemical imbalances. Educate yourselves before you pass on your ignorance.

I do agreed with your statement.

Britexpat sometimes suffers from male PMS due to his advance aging.

I second PM on that I have personally gone through this exercise of realising that every single kid is different and some kids need medical/psychological help. It is until you are faced with the problems, that one appreciates the condition. The biggest problem is not accepting that something could be wrong with your kid.

Both are well qualified (with Western training). If you want an Arab there is the Family Counseling Center nears the Sports roundabout.

Contact me if you need more information or contact information.

school counselors are equipped with psychological assessments, and if such tests show psychiatric problems, then that's the only time a child should see a psychiatrist. otherwise, a school counselor should be competent enough to handle maladjustments or behavioral problems.

remember please, that not all behavioral problems require psychiatric help. don't rush to get a psychiatrist. they will prescribe your child some medications and hope that the problem will go away.

most of the times, what a disturbed child needs is professional counseling, which is what school counselors or child psychologists do.

all the best.

Try the Child Psychiatrist at Hamad Hopsital Department of Psychiatry, which is located behind Ramada Hotel. The lady Doctor is a very good child Psychiatrist.

Alternative you can consult Dr Aju Abraham near Al Sadd Stadium.

I have tried both of them for my child and both are very good.

We have same, experience,,, but instead of bringing them in Psychiatrist,,, why don't u try it with urself 1st,,

Talk to ur kid,, ask why he's doing such kind of things... maybe he's having some difficulties, in school or wid his friends,,,

try to talk to him 1st... pls... don't let him feel dat,, he's different. he will feel more bad about dat, specially if he find out, that u want to take him in Psychiatrist!..

Hope I can help!

Just check with him...

it is just "heard" about him, i dont know personally how good he is personally.

instead of rushing to a psychiatrist at the slightest pretext, just discuss with your family friends any Special Educator or school counsellor etc... Is he studying ? where ?

Why dont you try Dr. Aju Abraham. He has a clinic somewhere near midmac roundabout. He has a website too. He is trained from UK as well. Try him. Wish you the best.
