If employer does not pay salary then what to do ?

Hi

I have almost 2 months here but my employer has not pay my salary. Food and accommodation is from company. Not only me, other employees have not been paid salary. Due to this all employees are frustrated as no one has sent money to his home. Old employees says that many employees left the company without getting their salaries. Company promise to those left employees that their salaries will be transferred to their home town bank accounts.

I am on a 3 months visit / work visa. I want to ask what should I do if my employer does not pay my salary and also not extend my visa ? What are the options to get my salary. ? If I am also being sent to my home town without any money and after reaching their company does not transfer my amount into my home town bank, then what should I do ?

Please guide me all the possible options that I may get my money from my company and then return to my country. This is because I have no friend / relative here who could help me in this matter. Thanks

EDIT: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs has launched a dedicated hotline for worker to register complaints regarding this matter. You can contact the Ministry on 16008 or by email at [email protected].

If you work for them in visit visa then you cannot do anything.

But if you are in work visa then contact your embassy immediately and file a complaint to them mentioning to get salary and go home and get a copy.

Then visit CEID with embassy paper and inform them. They will get your salary, passport and ticket and send you home.

This is the way. Thousands are doing that

I presume you have not yet been given a contract as you say you are on business/visit visa. If you don't have a contract, there is not much help you can get from the Labor Office. Also, I believe you don't have a Qatar ID yet. In such a situation even the Human Rights people may not be able to help you in any way because when you go to Human Rights office they will give you a form which requires details of your Qatar ID and also the name of your sponsor to be filled before they provide you with any legal advice. The only way right now that appears to me is to go to your embassy to seek help. The embassies of some countries are very helpful in such matters unlike the one of my country which hardly assists in such cases.

Go to Labour Court First and then to Human rights Office and lodge a case. Also, it might be worthwhile to seek consular help from your embassy.

"This is because I have no friend / relative here" Malik how did you come here? Any agency got you this job? You have to complain to and about the reference person or agency !!

@MM : "Make friends with your boss , try to melt his heart by talking about his family" He will land up from the frying pan to the fire !! In just 2 moths if he is talking about his family he will get suspicious and do the extreme as his heart will not melt but become stony hard !!
