Import Mitsubishi Evo VIII form UK

Hi,
I own a Mitsubishi Evo VII in the UK. It was originally imported into the UK from Japan and is a 2001 model.
I enquired about the possibility of getting it imported into Qatar but was told by a friend that it's not possible due to it being more than 5 years old.
Is this true? if so, is there anywhere around it?
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated :->

Keep it there. Buy another one here.
I think yr friend is right. I understand there is a 5 year rule, and the right hand drive may also be an issue.
You can buy some great powerful cars here and still enjoy similar acceleration as the Evo!
if its on the left hand side driving- i guess you may try asking the traffic dept & custom for more clarification.
