Looking beyond the Japanese

Dear QLers,

I am looking to buy a new car and am asking myself if I can dare to look beyond the Japanese cars?

We find Toyota, Nissan and Honda ruling the roost with Mitsubishi with a decent presence too.

I am not looking to buy those huge monsters so but a good little family sedan.

I have looked around and have quite liked the Chevy Cruze and Ford Fusion. They are much more fashionable and more gizmos on board compared to the Japanese cars?

Why is that we hardly find these cars on the road?

Would love to seek your views.

still there are people prefer chevy models, mostly companies hire chevy's for field works, where as rent a cars have plenty of them. Depends upon the budget & the model of the car you choose.

here i talking about the low budget saloon chevy's

We love cars, brit, don't we? Even the Chevys with the small blocks and their raw power. Especially from 1970 to 1972. (Orange blocks)

Great days.. Cars had character and individuality then. Now they are just clones :o(

And here you have to ask yourself: what exactly do I want from my car? And when you answered your questions, you can find the car that satisfies all your needs. Nobody here knows what you are looking for. And a general judgement on 'quality' is infantile. If you pay enough, you can get a hand-made car with a life-time warranty even in the USA. It's funny, isn't it, that no other nation so far has managed to send a man to the Moon, except the USA. And furthermore, you can buy a car up to NASA standards. It will work even on Mars! (If you have the money).

I think I was asking the obvious and expecting to see exactly the same responses.

LP - If there was just one car for everyone and not a LC V8, Qatar's roads will be a lot safer

And the Nano may just get away with its safety flaws..

Any car fulfills its main purpose; to transport people or goods from one place to another safely, comfortably, and within a reasonable time. We build different cars because people have different tastes, and because some have no brain and need a car instead to show off. One car for everybody would actually be enough. I go for TATA Nano electric!

American's managed to go to the moon, but failed to produce a decent car. The sad truth is that American cars are unreliable and cheap.

Buy Japanese.
