There was study carried a few years ago.. That if you play classical music in your car while driving it helps calm you down.

If that does'nt help there is always option B. keep a base ball bat in the back of your car...lol

I don't like it because of the crazies, but I have adjusted. Driving in Qatar is definitely not for the inexperienced. Maybe you should consider hiring a driver?

I don't find driving here that bad. You just have to go with the flow, keep your wits about you and be confident. If you are a timid driver then I don't think you stand a chance here.

And in the two years I've been here the roads have definitely become less crazy.

Brit, me too, but my comment was VERY tongue in cheek ;o)

Did you Google it first?

This is a very dangerous option especially taking into account the "flimsiness" of the small cars being driven here..

It's better to use common sense and brains. To be honest, I haven't found driving here too bad an experience.... Mind you, i've also driven in Kuwait and Saudi..

I find the only way to fit in with really fast drivers is to join them. Anything below the speed limit is no longer acceptable in Qatar!

I live here for last 9 yrs, when i used to see these wide empty roads with no traffic jams, I talk to my self, why these people (Qatar Govt.) made so much wide and big roads, but now after 9 yrs I say these people did not have real future road plans as the roads are too narrow and small..and traffic is countless...but still it is ok, imagine after next 9 years...lol

One more thing I want to share.. Before if there was a road accident, you call 999 and in next five or ten minutes a traffic cop would show up, but now..Just forget it.. even 2, 3 hours are not enough....modernism and development makes everyone lazy....

mallrat, so nice of u, really trying to help, but I didn't see anybody asking 4 ur advise, what a shame...

I have this one question, are the radars working all the time? Or are they just for decoration? Because I always drive maximum speed for the street in cause but I see these other cars passing by me like the thunder, right along the radar, and it's a lot of them, do they know that radars are not working or they are ok with paying the fines????

If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humour.
