Marriage Certificate 2 live with husband
By sunshine181 •
I got married in Canada in a civil court with my husband and I want to join my husband who resides now in Qatar and live with him there. Would it be okay for me to get my marriage certificate stamped by the embassy and authenticated in Canada and the embassy of Qatar and live with my husband in Qatar without any problems? we are both mulims,,,,, I was just wondering if a marriage certificate will be sufficient enough??
Yes, for the proof of your marriage it's sufficient but for your family visa some other documents are also required.
So long as you have a registered marriage certificate recognized by the government in Canada you will be fine.
"marriage certificate will be sufficient enough?"... I beg your pardon, and what are other documents that can prove your legal marriage, if not your marriage certificate? Am I missing something here??
Sunshine...u said police dint know much english..question..is ur mariage cert that time had a arabic translation with stamped?
hello, i am Lebanese christian i get married from Morrocan woman musslim by marriage civil and legalized in my coutry, now i have a new job in qatar i need to know if it is possible to live with my wife in qatar??
can muslims live under a valid civil marriage certificate in Qatar with their spouces?
I know, i am pretty sure that I wont have any problem since I am legally married to my husband, its just that feeling i have at the back of my head thats scaring me, i just dont want anything to happen when i go there. Especially cuz me and my hsuband were actually married here in civil court downtown in city hall, and we both love each other very much, and it was a love marriage and at the time my parents didnt approve and they are still against him, i dont want my parents coming down here and causing problems for us or his family....
On the other other hand I dont know WHY the police said that to me at the time when i was in Doha.... why would the police mis-guide me at that time? I mean i had to come back here to Canada just because of them. I could have stayed there and gotten my marriage stamped by both embassies and could have lived with my husband than which was about 6 months ago exactly today...... I mean there's a alot of misguiding due to the part of the law and police there. If anyone has any problem, they should not ask the police there and i would advice them to see a lawyer... The Sharia law and Civil law are really confusing there i guess...
yeah thats true it has to be authenticate certificate. And ive been here 3 years i dont have the same problem as urs. And I didnt change my last name same on my passport. That strange, cos you have the documents with you that proof that both of you are married and still police asked you some questions. that police might like you thats why his giving you a hard time. you know how they are here! Well anyway, good luck to you.
I think it was because my marriage certificate may have not been authenticated. It was the police, he was the captain and he said that court marriages are not acceptable here in Qatar to live here.... He called himself a captain... he didnt know much english along with his crew that came,,, i am pretty sure they were the police there as they came in the police car and they were all wearing their uniforms.... He was a pretty religious man.
If it's valid, then there's no problem. You sure it's the police who told you that your Marriage Certificate is valid? Better yet, change your last name to your married name. If police will look into your ID, they'll know you and your husband are related to each other. no more questions asked.
It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!
we did this before my hsband was here and i was in Philippines. The first thing he did is, he got me a tourist visa, then when i got here he transfered my tourist visa to family visa and his company processed it for him. and also i did my medical here in qatar. all we need is our marriage certificate, copy of our passport his residence permit and his company ID. so thats what we did. So maybe you can do it, i think its the same thing. But ofcourse first thing you have to do is talk to your husband.
Anyone????? here that can i help me!
Actually I am in the process of getting a job so i am most likely going to be coming on a Residents Visa or work permit, My husband is on a family visa there. I just wanted to know if i would get into any kinda trouble living there in Qatar with my VALID civil marriage certifcate. Me and my husband got married in Canada in a civil court. The embassy of Qatar has sent me all the information to authenticate my marriage certificate and stamped in both embassies (Qatar and Canada) However I am just so afraid right now. THe last time i went to Qatar for a visit to see my husband there was a police officer there who told us that our marriage certificate was not valid and was NOTHING,,, I am assuming that was because it was not authenticated at that time by the embassies. I really want to join my husband now, we've been seperated for about 3 years now.... and i am also getting really impatient and i really hope the government doesnt get in the way. It will be a while before i sponsor him and i just want to be with him till than...
YES! Ask your husband to apply for a Family Visit visa for you to come here.
Good luck.
