Medical Test for Children to determine parents????
Hi,
My husband has a very good job offer and we are planning to move to Qatar. However, I am in double minds. We have 2 children. My husband is not biological father of one child, however, my husband's name is on all the legal documents as father. I heard that they do a thorough medical check up for RP which includes blood group etc. If you go by blood group, it is very clear that my husband is not father. Is this going to be a problem (even though all the legal documents list my husband as father)??? Any advice will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Thanks everyone. Do you know up to what age the children are not required to undergo medical tests?
hi there is no blood grouping or medical tests for children upto a cetain age, only you and your husband will have to take the blood test for communicable diseases and xray for sceening TB. only the two of you will have to take the blood grouping and fingerprinting for your residence premit, so as long as your docs are ok you will be fine.
I wouldn't worry. There's nothing illegal about not being the biological father of the child, no one will ask, and no one will care.
there's no problem with the blood group. as long as the birthcertificates are properly authenticated in your home country, and attested by mofa here and your good to go. Aside from that blood grouping doesn't determine if you are the parents or not, it should be through DNA testing.
I think for Sure you are OK and welcome to Qatar...
The Blood test is done to screen for communable diseases and not DNA testing is done to see hierarchical linkages. After landing in Qatar, the Medical Commission is responsible for conducting a health exam, the purpose of which is to protect the health of the population and prevent the spread of infectious diseases from newcomers.
Newcomers should first obtain a blood-type certificate from any clinic before undergoing the Medical Commission exam, which comprises a blood test and chest X-ray. Diseases being screened include:
HIV/AIDS
Tuberculosis
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C

well there is way where certain blood group of a child can come from only certain blood group of parents. For example O type cannot come from parents with AB group. Unfortunately my situation falls in that category. My husband will be moving there first and then I will with my kids. I am just worried that what will be the consequences when I come there with my kids. Thanks for the replies so far but can someone please tell me for sure?
Thanks
Legal documents should be proper, they dont do DNA test or they "dont make test to see if the person is actual father". I guess, you are OK as you have docs and welcome to Qatar.
no way you can determine a child's father by blood group, by DNA you can. and I believe here in Qatar they don't require DNA testing in medical exam for visas and RP.
Tell them the truth , they 'll guide you .......... Good luck & joys ............
