NEED SOMEBODY TO HELP FOR REDUCING TRAFFIC FINES

In my two years here in Qatar, i think today is the worst day of all. I got caught by Police (Lekhwiya) when i drove into the island in-between roads in industrial area to avoid the terrible traffic near the round about. Bcoz i received a call from my Office to attend an urgent meeting . If I am not attending , that will effect my job. So i decided to cross this island to get office fast . But all of a sudden this police came from the other side of the road and stopped me i was telling them i have emergency but they did not want to listen. To make the long story short, they told me to follow them in impounding unit and took my car and impounded it untill i pay 6,000 QR. Does anyone here knows if it's possible to appeal my case in the traffic dept bcoz 6,000 QR is too much for me. Some of my colleagues told me that if i know somebody from inside and appeal my case, or go to Gharafa traffic dept and talk to the sheik there, my fine will be reduced.. Is it true? Are they really considering especially if i have emergency? Pls i need ur valuable insights on this.. Thnx much. I am waiting for your advice . call or miss call me 66031466 or mail me [email protected]

You break the law, you pay the fine. What kind of excuse is that!!! You had a urgent meeting? Your boss cannot just wait a bit on you. You must be very important to the company, which mean you are making enough salary to pay the fine. Seriously, no one wants to have a QR6000 fine on their back. BUT you break the law, you pay for it! Don't make a mistake in future and respect the rules of the road.

Sorry, if I am right, perhaps you were doing like this earlier which raised ur confidence level. Never get carried away with your known mistakes, one fine day you will regret later. Try your best to get reduced t minimum level.

An officer will give a discount? I believe it is just a hearsays...Just save 500 every month, in 1-year you can cover the whole amount and pay the fine. Learn from your mistake and be a law abiding expat next time.

If it was charged by "Lekhwiya" then I guess you are left with no option than paying. Regular traffic dept doesn't entertain appeal on something charged by "Lekhwiya". Same thing happened to one of my friend recently and he had to pay amount in full.

Just be cool, learn from mistake, pay and try not to repeat it.. Good luck !!!!

face the consequences of your ignorance & next time get up early to reach your office on time or REGRET! Just pay the fine and don't ever try ask anyone's help because your excuse for breaking the traffic law is premature! Yalla insert your credit card!

@Molten Metal, thanks and you say that again and again....

Just accept the fact that what you did is very wrong and pay the fine.

In fact, I pray that they will not reduce the fine for him instead increase it!

The reason is because if the fine is reduced, it means he his just been given the grace to continue violating the Traffic rules.Tomorrow another person will overtake from the right cause an accident and he will praying for forgiveness; do you know how many people that has lost their life because of traffic rules violators.

Brother I don’t hate you, but 'am telling you what I will tell my biological brother.

I don't want to sound unsympathetic but having to get to the office for a meeting is not an emergency in the eyes of the law: Fire, death, injury, going into childbirth, stopping a crime - those are emergencies. I'm not surprised they won't waver the fine. If you can get your office to admit that they required you to get to work in an unrealistic amount of time (ie. somebody sent you a text or email saying 'get here in 5 minutes or you're sacked'), they should offer to pay your fine for you.

My bro , You will reach office only if you follow road rules , if you break traffic rules be ready to pay fine. But if you reach office after breaking rules & getting fined , you have the option to work harder , save money .... deposit with police ... Sat, 22.11.2014, 11.45 hrs

Without wasta it's still possible, goto madinat khalifa traffic department! and head to the main office ( 3 stars i think). But don't think this type of violation is forgivable!
