Does anybody know about the new rent law in QATAR it give the landlord the right to withdraw all the postponed cheque even it's not on it's time??
I 'l move to new house & the contractor wants 2 years contract i am so worry from that?
There's no new rent law. It is the checks encashment law that is recently implemented. Meaning, Check's payee will have the right to encash on hand checks regardless if is dated or postdated.
However, the rent law shall supercede it. Suggest that you discusss with landlord to implement an addendum in your lease contract (assuming there's an existing). Stating that landlords are not allowed to encash that check/s given until it falls due as rent payment.
