Happened to DH not long after we arrived in Doha. He contacted his bank who told him he physically had to go in to the bank to fill out a dispute form (easy to do from Doha, right). Anyway, we found out that at the end of the week all the transactions are reconciled and the money is credited back to your account so you don't lose our money. Hope you get it back soon.

Don't worry, you will get back your money.....but tow things are important;

1) Bank should properly acknowledge the case.

2) Keep follow-up.

It might take max. of 2-3 weeks time duration.

Such cases are not un-common.

ive send an email to my bank back home. still waiting for respond, i will also check with the HSBC bank on sunday. i only hope to get my cash back.what iam not sure off is if cash came out of the ATM after i left. i was only worry about my card getting stuck in the machine , so the sec. my card came out, i took it and left. BTW the ATM was shuting down and it told me sorry this ATM is out of service or some thing like that. i really hope my account gets credited asap.!!!!!!

ps. its not my pleasure to use my cards here in doha, was only in need of cash at the moment.

Dont worry about it! There's a built-in camera in the machine so they able to monitor you if you happened to get some money. It happened to me once &able to retrieve it after 3 weeks!!

Happens all over the place. knowing what happens behind the machine, its not serious. even when the cash is dispensed and you do not collect it in time, it goes into the purge bin which still means you have not lost it. minute details are collected with every transaction and are easily tracked.

I guess you wanted to withdraw 3000 Qr, so when you try Outside Debit Card or ATM card it take some time more time..

Its lag time, but if you withdraw before the money come from ATM, the Money from Your Bank outside Qatar has already Transfer..

You can get your money bank unless it fraud

note of the approximate time as they will check the camera also to see if you took out any money, any details will help.

You can definetly get your money back but its a pain staking issue. You have to do lot of followups, pleasing and have to spent lot of time in bank to get your money back.

That is why some time I recommend not to use ATM cards in other countries coz if some thing goes wrong its hell of a difficult job to get your money back.

Good Luck.

Contact the local bank where you did the withdrawal. They track all the transactions and they will be able to see that the money was not dispensed.

It happened to me too. Mine was a Uk bank card. I contacted the bank and I have to fill in a form which they still haven't sent over here! It looks like I am going to have to wait to get my 2000qr back if at all.

Keep Smiling :-) you never know who is looking

Same incident happened to me in Doha Bank ATM in D-Ring Road. I just called the DB Hotline and they told me they will give the money back. After a week or so, the money was credited to my account. Kalas.

cheers,

paul

Contact the bank that issued your ATM card and start an inquiry. It will take months to sort out but it should be possible to recoup your money.
