Online bank in Qatar

Im used to handle my finances with online banks at home.

I havent step on a bank for years. I received the money from direct transfer and withdraw from ATMs. I handle with internet the rest of operations (transfers, etc)...

Is there any no or low comission online bank in Qatar?

I mean: no comission for maintenance, no comission for credit or debit card, etc...

Thanks in advanced for your advice,

Eu

We have a small account with HSBC here in Qatar. But recently we found out that the on-line banking feature was incompatible with our Mac, sigh. But why would you need the bank to be local if you do all your transactions on-line or through an ATM? I use my bank account from home for most of my transactions, i.e., direct deposit, credit and debit cards. If you have a credit or debit card from the Middle East you do not have the fraud protections of a card from, say, the US. And since checks are generally not accepted in Qatar, the point of a local bank becomes moot.

You are right: Qatar is a developed country. Most of the banks have online service.

I was looking for the "no-commission" feature.

This is a typical feature of banks like ING for instance.

in qatar has on-line banking. You only come to the bank to open account, and then you can maintain it over the internet.. that's what i do... i go to the branch only in some special cases..

... not even minimum balance.

It is named: Instant Account in QNB.

They give you an account number and a free debit card.

You can manage your money through internet and withdraw from ATMs.

No commissions at all.

With banks, there will always be service charge for the products & services they give.. Savings/Current accounts always have maintaining balance. Falling below this monthly average balance means you will be charged 25-50Qar monthly. (depending on the bank). But if you have a car loan or a personal loan, there is a waiver on the maintaining balance. Transfer of funds from one of your accounts to another account, same account name and same bank, there is no service charge. Local telegraphic transfers between banks here charges 35QAR. If it is foreign telegraphic transfers irregardless of bank or account name, normal charge is around 55Qar if done via internet.

Now on credit cards, depending on where you are currently employed and whatever is the package of the bank for your specific company, credit cards are normally free from annual fees.
