Sarvodaya is a Volunteer organization founded by Dr., A.T. Ariyarantne to help the Rural Poor peasent some 40 apporx. years ago. It became one of the biggest Volunteer organization in Asia.

I think the owner of the nursery has some Asian Links to get this name. if you give me their no. I will find out from them.

How I know Dr. Ariyaratne? His son and me studied in the same class from Grade 10 - 12.

Charansoi11r.....

Sarvo = Above everthing else

Daya = Caring, humble,  etc

So Sarvodaya would mean "The most loving/caring"

Preschool is generally kids aged 2-4, kindergarten 4-6 and nursery 0-4.

Usually although PS and KG are interchangeable at times.

saj..nursery=pre school - correct you get 1 mark.

You kid might need to familiarise himself with the new school so you can start early but it is optional & preferable. If you dont want then you can put him directly in KG1 at the age of 3.

Usually Nurserys also have pre school + KG1 + KG2. They dont want to loose business.

kindergarten = reception (lol..are you taking a dig at me?)

Kindergarten = Age3 KG1 (they learn to read & write Alphabets,

Numbers & oral Rhymes & colours)

& Age4 KG2 (they learn to write Words, Adition,

Subtraction)

Age 5 - Standard 1.

Theres a good Nursery + babysitting at "Sarvoyada nursery" bang opposite the Children Emergency lane. Fees QR400 approx.

Pre school is more like play school .

Then comes Kindergarten...KG1 & KG2. Then the brat is ready for Standard 1 in Elementary school. Then he goes to High School.....etc.

Finally he gets married.

Then the cycle repeats.

Its depend on the school system. In the US Kindergarten is part of Elementary School, even some of the Elementary school they also start with Pre Kindergarten ( Pre K). So pre School mostly for the kids unders 5 years old. Nursery is more like day care, where parents leave the kids at that place while going to work.

But here in Qatar...kind of mess up

Depend on the school system, if they follow British curriculum, then nursery mean pre K, and reception mean Kindergarten.
