Qatar: Effect of global financial crisis

To what extent do you think that the global financial crisis is affecting jobs of expatriates working here?

In which sector do you think it is worse than ever?

Thanks for your kind comments and valuable time.

How about this: some banks have raised minimum salary criteria for you to avail of a personal loan. One must have QRs25K/month salary. What do you glean from that? Liquidity probs? Your guess is as good as mine.

banks have even stopped giving car loans to low salary ppl..dunno their least salary limit for car loans...and as we heard that insurance companies are gonna increase policy rates by next year ...and we all know that saudia is selling petrol at half price so its obvious that if not now but gradually within an year we will clearly see the effects of financial crisis on Qatar

Not much effect yet, too soon to tell, I'm afraid. In other countries the recession is affecting stores, restaurants and construction first.
