QL surfing problem
Friends and admins of this site,
I have a dial up connection at home. I tried to load a thread with two pages. loading first page made me wait for 3 to 4 minutes and adding to my frustration it didn't load completely and stopped just near the end without giving me the link to 2nd page where i have the new posts to be read. I refreshed the page and the problem repeated the second time also. Third time finally I got it and the link to the second page. Huh..
I cann't afford surfing QL anymore from home..
I have discussed remedies for this before and i am repeating again if the admins wished to act..
1. give page links for each thread in the recent posts page.
2. display page links for the thread at the top of each page.
3. Reduce the page lengths by 75 percent for fast page loading...
Hope the admins will acknowledge these issues...
Thank you.
230 QR for 512kbps for phone line, number and internet. not bad if youre working. why waste patience with dial-up
Is the moon and the tide...........
wise men ksarat and r7,
Constant feedback and improvement is basic IT policy. Well if you don't understand I cann't help. I am talking about dialup connection and you suggest me to go for adsl as if I don't know that. For your info i am using VAIO laptop with Vista with 52 kbps internet connection in Doha and I faced that problem. And this problem doesn't happen daily. The remedies i gave will definitely help slow connections.. Now you enjoy ur adsl wifi I have no problem...ok
there is one solution, upgrade to DSL!
firefox or safari and check the difference am sure will be better than IE if you are using that.
That happened to me in Yangon... I needed to send an urgent email and I had to wait forever for the page to open up... umm like an hour or so... and it's all under military control, it so sucks...

Continue ur amazing browsing experience with ur dialup ..
KSA stop smiling u jack@$$
R-7 seriously dude why do you step in to help people who dont know what it is meant for... :P
Blablabla...dude you dont need to be an admin of this site to actually step up and answer that NO THERE's NO QL SURFING PROBLEM...it is a connection problem and you might need to change the browser, upgrade your speed...etc etc...
Go to Somalia and sit you might click on a page today and it might open tomorrow... :P
So seriously, if someone was helping you out...you might want to see that as a help rather than asking stupid questions like "Are you the admin of this site?"
LOL! R-7 got your azz whooped...!!! :P
r7,
Are you the Admin of this site?
ok, its great you have no problem surfing this site, but its strange to note that you don't find any improvement taking the measures I mentioned. You need to be an IT guy to understand that. Anyways, thanks for your reply.
I have been surfing Ql since 2yrs now and have never faced any of the problems that you mentioned, I even check it on my cell phone through wi-fi at coffee shops etc and dont find viewing pages to be a problem coz of there length.
Maybe u need to upgrade your browser to the latest version.. im not too sure
I have used dial up to chk QL and it works fine..
Though I have a good 1mb Adsl line at home :)
