Nasrawi,

well I just arrived 4 weeks back , and my co. helped me a lot to expedite my PR (normally takes 3 weeks) so it depend how stromg is the public relation dept in ur company to get u the PR as soon as possible.

Then I went to the second step and that by inviting my wife and kids on my sponsorship for a tourist visa for a 14 days , that will cost you around 55 Qatari Rial for adult and around 35 for kids (renewable for another 14 days on expiry, but to pay fees again - this could be done in 48 hrs processing time max. and u can simply print out the visa via internet using the visa reference no. on the e-gov. site ) but that require that they must come on qatar airways (as they are acting as additional sponsor too )this will need to book a return tickets. just when my family arrived i started to change thier tourist visa to visit visa of which they can stay for 3 months(90 days) till finalising the PR which in the worest case should take around 45 days . as you have to take her passport (after stamping the visit visa) and start the medical eximination ( HIV & Chest x rays) then you need to wait for a 2 weeks and then start the finguer print process which its results takes around 2 weeks . once this had been done , then you are done and can get the ID card for her, Public realation ppl in ur co. must know that by hard , dont worry

For a company like QP it takes a week after your Medical, which is usually done on the first week of Arrival. I came back to Qatar to work for QTEL on a new RP last year and I got it in 5 days after the medical. I have been here for 15 years and I see a real huge difference in they way visa’s are processed now, believe me you wouldn’t have wanted to come here 15 years ago… .

Regarding getting your wife here, you can get her on a visit visa almost immediately after your RP is stamped, within a 3 days, For an RP entry visa (meaning entering with the intention of getting an RP) it takes a week or so. Actually there is no difference, but over here I have seen guys wait when they opted for an RP entry visa because of bureaucratic nonsense. But if your wife carries an American or British passport she can come in, get a visa on arrival and get it changed to an RP easily once you get the paperwork done. QP's Immigration can give you the details. Most Q companies here have very efficient Immigration handling procedures so you needn't worry about delays unless there is some problem with your passport.

I have checked with them and they told me that it will take one month to get my RP, and then they will start processing her visa. I just wanted to make sure if u have heard a such scenario lately.

btw, where are you from Novitta and do u work with QP?

Regarding,

Our RP took forever ... We arrived on 5th of September 2001, and did not get it till christmas time.

That was 5 yrs ago, i hear now that the government office change alot and more efficient.

I am not too sure how long you will get your RP, i am sure anyone who just arrive in Doha can answer you re this matter.

No idea about dentist ... i think there is a member call 'Dentist' on this board.

QP have their own clinic for staff which provide dentistry and medical, you should inquiry on QP clinic first regarding about dentist job. That would be good for you if both of you and your wife working for QP :-)

Thanks Novitta77 for your prompt response. I will mobilize alone in November and my wife will follow me after i get my RP. how long time it will take to get my RP? and how long it takes to issue an entry visa to my wife?

also another question if you allow me, my wife is dentist. is it possible for her to find a job in Qatar? she has three years experience.

PTA means Prepaid Ticket Advice. This means the ticket has been paid for and the physical ticket can be collected from the Airlines office at the place of departure. Actually nowadays people don't resort to collecting a physical ticket booklet because you get e-tickets.

Anyway check it out with QP whether you have to collect a physical ticket at the airline office or whether you will get the e-ticket details scanned and emailed to you or faxed.
