QP moving to Qatar-Family status

I am considering an offer from Qatar Petroleum, I have completed Medicals during face to face interview visit to Qatar during December 13,there (after Phone interview 3 months prior) and was asked to carry out further  medical tests back home which has been sent to QP. I am now awaiting a Formal offer and terms.

My questions are as follows:- thank you all in advance.

1) What are the  BASIC next steps before I can move there. (It is family status, unlimited duration contact with QP). How long this process takes as an indication?

2) Do I need to undergo all medical checks up again when I reach Doha, and begin work?

3) How does the family visa/ Resident permit works? Do I bring family when I accept offer and land or I need to wait  a while ( say 3 months or so) before Family can move?

4) Also wanted to know Qatar health Policy tolerance on Latent TB, while TB on Xray and tests no +ve was observed and local Pulmonolgist cleared with no TB treatment required, the Quantiferon tests indicate potential for future Infection. (Being from South ASIA!!)

Thanks

Today I have received formal Job offer, I am told to wait futher and not to resign from current job, until I hear on Medical, RP clearance by Govt. How long does this process usually take!! ?(days/weeks/ Months??).

It would help if some one can help on monthly expense indication on provisons, rent, etc for couple. I am told 14000 QR with rent would be a decent guess for a family of 2 per month!

Yep QP will provide you accomodation there. Irrespective of whatever facilties it seems to be a boring place as told by some of the people I know who are staying there...you cant be clubbing and sitting on the beach all the time. Social life is quite low otherwise in this part of the world. You and your wife would mostly be the company to each other. But hopefully you would settle down....all others did. Best of luck.

Many many thanks and I appreciate. I will update on things as they take shape. It is Family status. (Only wife will move as Children aged 20+ would remain in India)

How is Maiseed City to live for a 50+ yr old man and wife? I am told QP might accomodate people in family accomodation for personnel who are recruited for working there!!

Thank you.

When you will accept the offer, visa processing is next, in 2 days you can have your visa depending on their need and speed in processing.

Probationary is 3 - 6 months. If you pass, it is open ended contract. The length of stay entirely depends on both parties.

Medical will be X-ray and blood typing. You can make it on the medical for sure.. don't worry.

After getting an RP or residency permit, you can bring your family. Medical is good if -not better. I had a by-pass over a year and was done for free and was taking care very well pre and post hospitalization.

Family or single status should have been discussed by you during the interview. You can clear or discuss if you receive an offer letter.

If you are an Indian, you will gel at QP as it is populated by people of your race.

Cheers and welcome to Qatar.
