doha • A technical glitch yesterday caused Internet services to shut down in many parts of the country. Due to the technical fault, organisations like travel agencies could not carry out the online reservation process and routine tasks like sending e-mails and chatting with friends and relatives came to an abrupt halt.
The country’s sole service provider, Qtel, in a release said service disruptions occurred between 10.17am and 11.18am and again from 5pm to 8pm. However, service had not been restored in parts of the city as late as 9pm.
Another reason to have more than one service provider.
What's up?!?!?!!!!!
I've got a lot of catching up to do, haven't been here for a while.
Anyways, just wanted to add here that I have been waiting for Qtel to install ADSL at my new place since I moved over a month ago and still waiting (I'm using wireless at the moment). I call every now and then to this 111 number of QTEL but still no appointment to get my installation. I've given up. :(
What about the triple X service....
...oops.....the triple-play service ....Q-Tel said they were comming out with.
I almost got the Site banned......lol
Would you imagine its been almost TWO months since we haven't had our ADSL properly connected at home (due to various excuses, non with much weight). We've possibly met the entire "Connection" team at QTEL as we've called their "Customer Care center" atleast every other day?! Finally, here I sit with amazement and it's working.
Cheers!
the Q-Tel service now is horible too....i am waiting for somebody to fix my DSL(it was not installed proprerly) for a week now and nothing....
Plus the internet speed is horible....i am working a lot with emails and internet...and somethimes i go crazy how slo the net can be...
I guess their new servers aren't compatible with old ones.Since Qtel has purchased them, many customers have been complaining about the internet service!
My DSL loggin and Password have been changed 3 times without my authorisation recently and no one at the customers service could explain to me how come??!!!!!
".Am not a playa,I just crush alot..."
So long as it's not like the situation in the UAE.
The new Dubai based service provider "du" will soon launch in the UAE. It's owned primarily by the governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi (including Etisalat).
I was at work, and most of my work is via mails (outlook) we could not work and stayed doing nothing, and my work is pilled up for today in which im not doing anything :S
