Ramadan timing
By jonaethenqr •
Our working hours in our company is ten hours, before the coming of Ramadan they issued a memo that our timing will be cut by 2 hours that means we have to work 8 hrs, but as per Law there should only be 6 six hours of work during Ramadan. The employer's reason is that the 2 hours extra has already been paid and we should work for it. Is this justifiable?
What will happen if the Authorities learned about this?
The offical working hours for Govt. sector is 5 and private 6 hours per day, anything more than 6 hours is overtime and employees have full right to demand this.
All you need to do is complain in labor office and the rest will be taken care by the authorities.

Am working in a German company here in Doha, which I think has the same policy with your company. My only concern and worry is what if the local and religious authorities learned about this, are we (employees) will also be liable to punishment or only the employer will face the charges??? Anyone please clarify?
you r working for Bechtel Corporation right ??
