work experience in consultancy firms are not counted after JUNE-2011 as per latest updates given by MMUP, and that is why many candidates are getting GRADE B instead of GRADE A.....if any one else have any further updates in this regard then please post....

Experience in Consultancy firms is acceptable for UPDA Certification ?

As per the beard guy in qatari dress who is well noticed in MMUP office (some time in ground floor reception and now days in ninth floor of MMUP Building), I forget his name, as per his comment, consultancy firm experience is not counted for UPDA Certification.

Nowdays, separate exam is going on for Quantity Surveying for UPDA certification...

It's no where mentioned that Planning Engineers in fact I should say engineers working in Planning & Scheduling profession are not required to have UPDA certification. If you are civil or mechanical engineer and working in Planning profession, then it's better to have UPDA certification.

Logically UPDA certification is mandatory required for the engineers, architects working in consultancy firm who put stamp and signature for the approval of plan drawings.

Dear Ahmed, Kadar is just talking about the Registration for Engineer, this is not applicable for supporting staff like Planner, QS, Procurement. Its only applicable for those Engineers who will deal with the authority and responsible for installation. Such as for Municipal Related to CIVIL Structural engineer, KAHRAMAA related to Electrical Engineers & QCD related to Mechanical Engineer. Thats all i know as i am from MEP background. And for Planning Engineers its not required to my knowledge.

May be, it depends upon your current employer. if your company asks you to register means you should register.

@lucky2masi, it looks like a new law for new comers! :(

@kadarmechengg, Thanks for your help, but is that mean i should be in Qatar to register?

I only need to attest required documents before leaving my country, is it right?
