Resignation during Probation Period
Hi All,
I have just joined a job in Qatar two weeks back, I am on business visa and RP has not been applied, I am not satisfied with the job and want to quit immediately. In my contract I have 6 months probation and they can fire me without any notice during this period. If I submit resignation, whether I will get the salary for the days I have put in, in that case I shall refund them the visa & ticket costs. But, after I submit resignation and they ask me to refund the costs without paying my salary what shall I do.
Kindly advice whether to resign or just leave without any information to the Company.
Thanks In advance.
Bye
Ekla
Tell them that you are leaving.
If you exiting Qatar within 30 days from your date of Entry you don't need an Exit permit.
You don't need a NOC letter either, in case you want keep looking for another job.
Make your calculation:
15 days Salary minus Air ticket minus QAR200 (for your business visa). If the result is still worth to fight for, try to get your salary, if not, just leave.
better ask your mandoop. I am getting different infos:
Info 1:
is saying you need an exit permit from your business visa sponsor.
Info 2:
If you leave Qatar within 30 days of your BV you do not need an exit permit.
As of now I am not sure which is true. But I think you can send a PM to Qatarisun. She knows more about these things.
u don't need any exit permit if u fly if not rached ur first 30 days in qatar
Thanks Treysdad,
I already have a return ticket as per the business visa requirement, so what u suggest, shall I just take the flight and leave the country without informing my company. whether an exit permit will be required during the first month under business visa.
Thanks Psyco,
so what u suggest, I already have a return ticket as per the requirement of Business visa, shall I just take the flight and vanish without informing. Whether a exit permit is required for leaving the country if u r under business visa in the first month.
You should review your contract.
Even if you are still under business visa, your contract will prevail since it is already signed.
But basically it will require you to pay the costs of hiring you (ex. airfare, temporary accommodation, fees, etc.). It will be costly and I am quite sure your 15 days work will not cover it.
Also you will have to shoulder your own ticket back home.
@ekls - Don't do that. I left like you. You will be dead meat coz you will be asked to pay a lot of money.

HMS...........
he is in buseness visa means he is not a valid employee ...
so wht is the problem ?
I don't think even he don't need to give resign letter too,
he can reuqest exit permit and he can leave this country at any time.......
Check your contract thoroughly. Some employers do not pay for an initial period (there was a previous thread on QL about a former Qatcom employee who was not paid for the first week or two of his employment). So you may be out of pocket more than you think.
You cannot just quit easily..if you resign now hms is right..you have to pay back the company who hires you, that is air ticket and bla-bla-bla.....so prepare yourself and forget about your salary for 15 days, maybe that is enough to pay back.
Yes you can resign and they should pay you all the working days and also they can deduct the charges/fees paid by the company on behalf of you
resign, they will pay your 15 days salary, but company has got the rights ( generally) to deduct total charges incurred by them in recruiting, your visa charges, air ticket and all, so be prepared accordingly.
