Hello Qler’s
Someone tried to call me today on Whatsapp using OOREDO number ( 302 305 80 ) saying that, I have won 200k Qatari riyals .
I really don’t know from where did he got my Sim number ( written back of the sim )
He asked me to send in my details. I hung up his Whatsapp call and tried to call him direct but his phone was switched off.

I receive many such calls and emails from all over the world. Most of them have originated from West African countries with Burkina Faso in the lead. Several of of the emails from this region are from "Reverend Fathers" who also send me a copy of their IDs (one sent me his photo showing him preaching in the church) to convince me they are "holy men" and as such cannot be involved in "unholy acts" of cheating people. Some of such scam emails had also originated from the UK and I have received just two from the UAE and a couple of them from India so far.

I tried reporting it to Q-Tel but, I feel it is of no use as the number is already been registered for WHATSAPP
There is noting Q-TEL can do. Any ways be Safe guys :)
Thanks for highlighting this. It is common all over the gulf. Remember NEVER to give personal details. Report the number to Oooredoo or the relevant service provider
