Schools in Qatar

Hello,

we are looking to move to Qatar sometime in the near future (pending the Qatar Visa), I have a 5 year old and would obviously need to be registered in school, the problem is i dont know exactly when we will be there, which means i dont know exactly when he will start, but im guessing within two maybe max three months we will be there (god's willing) .... any tips on what should we do? im really hoping getting them in schools is not a big pain, i would really like to register them now but then again im not sure when we will be there.  do you think it would be terribly difficult for a 5 year to get in a school?

It's possible. The schools here only have a limited amount of students that they will take due to overcrowding. When we moved here, we were told that the Supreme Education Council could help get our son in school if need be. But that doesn't guarantee anything. I wish that I could be more help with that. We ultimately got our son on a waiting list for next year and are currently homeschooling him.

Thank you Mary & Yoshi! so we will be moving in the middle of the year, from what Yoshi is saying I would need to get a letter from his current school that he is leaving in the mid of the school year, but would it be an issue to get him in a school in mid-year in Doha?

Mary is correct, but if you are moving in the middle of a school year, you will need to have a letter from the school stating your child's withdrawal from their institute and have that attested as well.

Once you get the RP you can put your child in any school as you prefer. The school batches start from April month and admission starts from November for the next year

Once you got the approval of your visa, your company has to apply for medical appointment.

After your medical test approval, apply of finger prints, once it done you will get your RP done and will get your ID in few days.

Make sure that you got your educational certificate attested….contact sheen service where you will get all the information and good services. If you want you can contact them for clarification.
