sofitel shop cheated me
By death88scythe •
i bought a 1TB hard disk in sofitel, but when i got home it was 160GB only, somehow the shop keeper changed it when i was not looking, what should i do in case the shop keeper refuses to replace my item? i bought several items in his shop and i am afraid some of the items are defective, i have not tested it yet since i have not assembled my pc yet. please advice. thanks
thnx 4 ur comment... anyways.. hope, u will come next time with real issues... lol
lesson learnt, always check your products before buying. Normally Shops at Sofitel will replace the product if its defective provided you hold on to the receipt. It also could have been a innocent mistake where the HDD's got mixed up, I'm sure they write the serial number of the product on the bill when they give it to you which can be matched.
Yeha i would say somebody probably cheated him returning the wrong one, or he has an incompetent shop hand.
thank you guys for your advices...
any way I have returned the HDD and the store replaced it saying they made a mistake.
@ shanawazt - if your read my thread fully, I am asking what if the shopkeeper refuses to replace the item. dont you think the normal human being reaction/approach is to read the thread fully before giving a comment?
@ labeladas - the shopkeeper said all his HDD are 1Tb size, hes just not sure how the 160Gb got in there, funny huh?
@ aafi - i guess they did, wish it woudnt happen so often
@ rainjohan - lesson learned
@ niceguy00701 - thanks for your thoughts
@ tented - thanks you have the best advice, can you tell me the other places i could buy pc parts ?
nothing to worry.. They will replace it. When they issue the bill, they will mention the serial number of the product for any future issues.. So you check the serial number is the same or not. If the serial number is not the same, you can easily ask for the particular one. Else, compare the price, i.e., 160GB price is the same as you paid when compare to 1TB? You can ask for the balace or replacemnt. If not it's cheating..! you can complain.
I found sofitel is always expensive in almost all products. You can go there for catridge refill or such things. The shop people expecting a bargain business from the visitors/customers. so the price will vary person to person. Never look for the tag price.
Is there no any indications that it is 160GB? make it a habit to double check the item before taking.
Damn it, only if I have knowsn, HDDs can feed on their own storage system.
And I used to wonder, why my drives keep getting smaller :-P
desecrate in the box and tell them the item was crap.
I have never been cheated by Sofitel Guys, I used to buy accessories for my company from them.... Maybe they made a mistake...
Note: Check on the label, the capacity should be printed on it....
I doubt htey pulled a switcharoo, for all you know someone else could have cheated the shop owner by returning the smaller HDD in that 1TB box.
And you should have tried to exchange it first, I have never had issues returning stuff to shops in sofitel
Don't u think going back to the shop and Exchanging/returning the hardware would have been more like a normal human being reaction/approach then opening a thread and discussing here
If you have a receipt, go back to that shop and complain, otherwise, they could deny that you got it from them..
You have a receipt?
