Hi,
today evening, when i was passing through Shamal highway road, near Naeja intersection, there was a huge traffic jam. After 5 mins of traffic jam,i reached traffic signal,i was second in line on the right track, when signal green,we goes through intersection then suddenly, there is no movement in traffic flows and we were in the middle of the intersection.all car on the interscetion blocking the other ways as there is traffic jam from naeja traffic roundabout to sanayia rounda about.then, when i wsa near to reach the intersection other side, suddenly One Qatari senior citezen came and noted down cars number ,i rush to him and asked that why are you noting down,i told him that there is traffic jam was there,he replied that i did wantedly.
Why he cant see others car behind me,may be he noted that also.I convinced him anyway.

My question is what if he complain police, will get chance to explain.
If not what will be the fine.

Thanks..

well the rules state that if you cannot clear the intersection due to there being traffic backed up after the intersection, it is your right and duty to stop at the green light till you are sure you can clear the junction. Do not let any person behind you force you into blocking the junction. It is not only a selfish thing to do by blocking other traffic; it is also punishable by a 3000 rial fine if noted by the police.

I was stuck in the traffic jam in Doha jadeed this morning when that bugger Rizks cycled through a red light and weaved through the traffic.

Why was there no camera ?

You should be able to see cars/traffic jam in front of you... and its lame to say that you didn't see the traffic jam because everyone stopped all of sudden.. RED Brake lights mean that the car in front of you has stopped, how could you not see that??

Blocking an intersection by stopping your car on it at the time of traffic jam is a violation of Qatari traffic law and there's a fine for it (Not sure how much) ..

I was in a similar situation at Ras Abu Aboud Signal yesterday. We had a green but the traffic was trailing so far behind that I was sure I will not be able to clear the intersection while the signal is still green.

Therefore, I stopped at the stop line.

But there were impatient nuts in HUGE vehicles behind me who were honking non-stop pushing me to go. Better sense prevailed and I did not move but I am sure it did not go down with the guys behind me as they overtook m very dangerously once the signal turned green again!

You should stop at the green light if there is no clear exit......as you found out, if you don't you run the risk of blocking up all the traffic - which is a traffic offence, and you are liable for a fine.

If an intersection then you are not allowed to enter it if you can not clear your way through.

If on a roundabout you should not enter a roundabout if you block the traffic comming from the left if they are already on the roundabout.

Seems to me that you may be able to drive a car but you need alot more experience to learn the rules and art of road craft.

or

I could have completely misinterpreted your entire post.

And to make it clear; if you get "caught" (surprise, surprise) in such situations, you must be stupid.

It depends how far you are able to look ahead. A Formula 1 driver typically sees the road about 100 m in front of him. In other words: driving is a matter of intelligence!

No, he is a victim , if traffic stops suddenly everybody has to stop where ever they are.

Hopefully Anwar will be forgiven .. by the 'Uncle'.

You are obviously very unexperienced. As a good driver you must be able to look ahead! It's your fault if you get caught in such a jam.
