Travel Ban/Prosecution

Early last year I had a few drinks and (stupidly) got behind the wheel.  I got caught by the police, was arrested and then let out after paying QAR 500.  Apparantly I had to go to the court but before any prosecution could take place then I left the country.

I need to go back intot he country, does anyone know how i find out if I have a pending prosecution or travel ban held against me.

I dont want to fly into the airport and then get carted off to jail at immigration.

In the first place, you will not be issued an entry visa if you have have been found guilty. You can be tried in absentia and the punishment will be deportation. Since you are already out of the country, then your punishment is already carried out.

Why do you think a record will just disappear because you left the country and took your time off? The record will be there, and by the time you reach the airport and handover your passports, you will be escorted by Police Officers as your name will flag a warning on their screen. Now, there are more problems other than DUI that you will face. Better stay where you are.

This is why they are adament on releasing the passports to any inviduals. 1 or 2 doing criminal activities like this makes the rest to suffer. JJSS better stay there, why you invite troubles again.

Big problem... Maybe you have a case filed already because you left the country without informing the concern authorities....Try you luck at the airport and good luck as well....
