By HOPE12

Hello there,

I would like to learn more if there are fashion ideas for veiled women, like in haute couture and stuff. I've been surfung and surfing the net and haven't found anything.

I probably need to make myself clear. I am actually looking for nice designs or designers for veiled women. Of course they need to be modest without drawing a lot of attention, but I've been seeing how much my veiled frfiends find it difficult to wear things they like and abide with the islamic rules as well.

In France, the term haute couture is protected by law and is defined by the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Paris based in Paris, France. Their rules state that only "those companies mentioned on the list drawn up each year by a commission domiciled at the Ministry for Industry are entitled to avail themselves" of the label haute couture.

Because we women may look and go wow what an amazing Abaya but men don't really bother. The woman is still covered she just has something nice to wear.

I will hoist that up the flag pole and see who salutes it!!

Haute Couture can be found where there is a fashion house. Dior, Armani etc etc. They make specific pieces for a person. Think Lady Dianes wedding dress, that was made for her and her alone by the Emmanuels. Although it was copied, it is still classed as haute couture as the ORIGINAL was designed and made just for her.

I will hoist that up the flag pole and see who salutes it!!

Just a thought ..

Isn't the whole point of the veil to dress modestly ?

If so, then wouldn't haute Couture or High fashion be going against that, since it draws attention ...

High quality for Abayas OK but for other thing I don't think that there is here in qatar. nowadays I guess that the most known in haute couture are italian.

Anything that is made in for a person as a one off, is described as Haute Couture. Dior was famous for this, I think she was the start of it all. It is not French per se.

It has to be high quality though.

I will hoist that up the flag pole and see who salutes it!!

Can be found anywhere as it is a specific piece for a person.
