Dear Freinds, I am working in an MEP company as electrical engineer for last 4 months ( May 18th 2014to present). My mother is not well and so I have given my resignation on 26th august 2014. They told me that they will not leave me and do whatever you can. My passport is with company and so I went to CID and they told me to collect passport from the company. I sent mail to the company to give my passport. But yesterday evening company  send me a message to submit my certificates with in one week. Please tell me friends what I want to do now. I also went to labour court and they told me to go to CID

Now I would advise you to go back to labour and CID, telling them that your company is not giving back your passport, how to get back your passport. they should have some answer for you other than sending you back to the company. good luck dear.

Thank you dear. My company is forcing me to submit my certificates so that they can hold me here. Is there any problem if I don't submit my certificates. I have already sent scanned copies of my certificates and my degree certificate is Qatar ministry attested. I went to CID and they told me to collect passport from the company and so I went to labor court .they told me to go to CID. When I sent mail to company they replied in arabic.I came to know in the mail it is submit my certificate with in one week.

don't submit your certificates to them as it has nothing to do with getting back your passport. Go back to CID and labour court again and them they refused to give back your passport. then follow their instruction. its always better to go through the authorities. good luck friend.

What is your probation period? if you are on 6 months probation period you should be able to leave with 3 working days notice if not see what is your agreement say. As per the current law in the country company has no right to hold the passport of the worker it is against Qatar Labour law. It is difficult to say something properly without having seen the contract you sign with the company. However, you must got to the labour department and ask for guidance, no one can hold workers by force, people have their liberty to leave the company if they do not want to work under any circumstances but there are procedures involved you must read your employment contract and see the terms and condition you agreed, in the mean time you must provide a proper notice period or monetary compensation in place of notice if you need to leave without giving them notice. i.e. if you have passed your probation period only. read Qatar labour law to understand further, you can find this on Google.
