i currently have account with barwa bank... some guy said me its better to get loans from banks like QIB or doha bank fr loans.. dont know why.. he was saying abt hidden charges n kind of things...
I'm new to doha and havent got much experiance with banks here.. as experienced QLs do you guys have any comment abt this... ?
Brit is right. The modern concept of banking business is mainly cantered around the lending of money as a means to making profit hence borrowers have to pay interest for the loans which is profit for the banks.
That said. The so called Islamic banking system is just re-branding the Western concept of banking to lure the ignorant and the ultra-religious customers.
yeah.. may be they call it different charges.. for us paying interest is forbidden and taking loan is inevitable at situations...
but you live in an islamic country..have account in an islamic bank... and the bank says they work with shariyah rules...and follow islamic banking i generally trust them.. !

I did not know that qib is a beast
It is a façade. Different terms used to hide the reality.
True Islamic Banking cannot exist without following the guiding principles within society at large.
We call it "interest" , you call it "finance or administrative" charges.
with BE & Thelonius..
Though I bank with QIIB but still cannot figure out how it is Islamic when they have fixed interest (profit) on loans.
QIB BANK THE BEAST
No interest on loans ? Difficult to believe
May be not for expats....
Brit..Islamic banking really exist.. Islamic law prohibits interests on loans.. and Islamic banks follows that..
From what I have read, there is no such thing as real Islamic banking...
Dear Brit what do u mean by "it's all a myth". He need not go to islamic bank for loan. All banks are equal?
Check with Doha Bank, QIB or Qatar National Bank.
No such thing. It's all a myth.
QIIB or QIB....
