Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! Here in Qatar, one can witness art at every corner. Right from the creatively designed bridges, round-a-bouts, architectural murals to the many art installations around the country, art is seen throughout the country. If you’re interested in visiting art galleries, you’re in for a feast!

Following are some of Qatar’s art galleries:

Doha Fire Station

Through its residencies and public programs, Fire Station, a contemporary art venue in the center of Doha, aims to support artists, curators, and the general public. Along with the Fire Station Cinema, Café 999, Cass Art (an art supply store), and gallery spaces exhibiting regional and international art shows, the building houses sizable studios and workspaces, a woodshop, and a fabrication lab.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

An exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art from the Arab world, as well as its cultural and historical ties, is housed in Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art. The collection at Mathaf, which is jointly owned by Qatar Museums and Qatar Foundation, has more than 9,000 works of art, making it the largest specialized collection of its sort in the entire world. H.E. Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Thani assembled the original collection of works. The museum has continued to grow as a stimulating setting for conversation and research on modern and contemporary art with artists in residence in Doha, as well as a location for art creation and display.

Msheireb Museums

In the center of Msheireb Downtown Doha, Msheireb Museums honor the past of four ancient heritage homes. They display unique characteristics of Qatar's cultural and social evolution in ways that inspire to establish safe spaces where the Qatari people will participate, converse, and share opinions about both their past and their future.

The restoration of the four heritage homes—Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Mohammed Bin Jassim House, and Radwani House—into world-class museums forms a crucial part of the Msheireb Downtown Doha development.

In response to the demand for a critical grassroots and multidisciplinary framework in Doha that engages with socially important themes and events both current and historical, Katara Art Center serves as a hub for growing cultural groups. All ages of the public, including artists and designers, are urged to question and deepen their awareness of modern art and creative fields.
