The official remarked on Fire station's dedication to facilitating experimental ventures. With reference to the latest exhibition “The Present: The Future of the Past,” several installations have been testimonials to the trends in the art domain in Qatar. Al Khulaifi quoted that the Fire Station has encouraged artists with the potential to introduce more unique concepts in their artwork.
Citing some examples from the ongoing exhibition, she noted that there were artists that relied on augmented reality elements, painting on AI-generated images, immersive art with sensors, and more such advanced art techniques.
She also stated, “I think that immersive, AI art is coming, and we would like to cultivate and develop as well, we make sure that if we receive applications of that kind, we know that the world is going this way and we want to also showcase local talents that can actually work with that.”
Al Khulaifi also extended the invitation to visit the artists in residence’s artworks in the ongoing exhibition, “The Present: The Future of the Past”. The exhibition welcomes the public including residents and visitors. The free-of-charge exhibition requires guests to register before coming so they can book a preferred time slot and have sufficient time to view the mesmerizing artworks on display.
