DELL laptop motherboard problem

Dear Friends,

my DELL laptop is stopped working.. When I switch it ON, it's showing a message "TIME OF DAY CLOCK STOPPED"

when I enquired about this, they told me that motherboard need to be changed, n it costs much... Tell me if any have some good solution or anyone can repair motherboard...

Remove you CMOS battery from Laptop ( you can get help from Google how to remove your laptop cover) keep 24 hours to discharge all capacitor's current. then power ON.Try...before replace Mother board.

Sound more like the CMOS battery is flat, how old is the laptop, 4 years or more?
