How important is the Express Card Slot in a Laptop?

i am going to buy Lenovo G550 Laptop, in which it doesn't has Express Card Slot in it...So, can u guys tell is that ok to buy a laptop without Express Card Slot...

Express card slot is the new technology which replaced PCMCIA technology couple of years back. Now-a-days as most of the external devices are USB, express card slot is not necessary.

You should be ok without it. My laptops have traditionally had one but I can't think of the last time I even used it. Nowadays the peripherals that needed the slot are usb. So don't worry about it.
