Where can I buy a USB modem that works with Qtel??

Hi,

Having found my way to Villagio and then found the QTel shop to sign up for the Mobile broadband package - (our apartment isnt yet cabled for landlines and internet) they told me they didnt have the hardware!! They said that no Qtel outlet had the modem because they were waiting for a new model due on 5th March... All very well, but I would like internet access now..

So.... does anyone know of a computer shop in Doha that sells the correct modem for use with Qtels service?

Sorry I forgot to mention it is a Qtel USB Modem, as I have a Qtel Sim.

Hi,

I have a USB Modem for sale if you are interested, I bought it in November for 800QR and now have WIFI in my villa so do not require it anymore. I can show it you working as I still have the SIM Card. I am willing to sell it for 500QR as it is almost brand new.

there are 2 brands available in the market right now.. one from promate Ego4 which sells in between 800 to 900 and there is one from D-Link also ..priced between 700 to 800 QR (not sure .. check it out .. PCone in salwa road is selling the promate one .. hope this helps ..

still wish to reply

recently i had severe problems with modem supplied by QTEL for the internet connections. My repeated calls to QTEL gve reply that I have to buy a new modem from the QTEL shop in Villagio

Later a freind advised me to go for LINKSYS modem which may be a 30 QR additional than QTEL, but gives good performance.

YES< I purchased LINKSYS wireless modem, it is fantastic, comparing with what supplied by QTEL

But if u talk somethng about "Mobile services"..sorry I dont have much idea
