Seminar on to get registered in Register of Engineers in Qatar by IEB Qatar chapter

Practice of engineering profession in Qatar is regulated by Law no (19) for the year 2005. A committee was formed to accept Engineers and Engineering Consultancy offices. Based on experience and education an engineer would acquire offered grade. The committee created three Registers viz., Register of engineers, Register of Local engineering consultancy offices, Register of global engineering consultancy offices.

Institution of Engineers Qatar chapter IEB QC conducted a seminar on getting registered in MME Register of Engineers to keep working in Qatar on 12th July in Al Banoosh Club, Mesaeed.The seminar mainly focused on procedure and requirement and steps to be followed to be in Register of engineers. All requisite conditions and steps were described in a presentation. The presentation covered regular requirement asked by MME and updated recent changes of requirement in the process. Emphasis was given on qualifying/passing the tests of the technical capabilities in individuals field of specialization. Engr Shafiqul Alam chairman IEB QC as key speaker made the presentation. 

IEB Qatar chapter beforehand met BD Embassy and informed about the event with a request to take part in the seminar and to explain to attendees the procedure to get necessary document attestation and procedure for attestation of all academic and experience certificates. His Excellency BD Embassy assent Mr. Muniruzzaman Chowdhury, Third Secretary to attend the seminar. After the presentation Mr. Zaman offered the audience an in depth briefing regarding document attestation procedure and steps. Few engineers described their problem and enquired/asked him for next steps. Mr. Zaman offered solution to their satisfaction and few he invited them to see him in person in Embassy.

Next panel discussion was held on Electrical Engineering by Engr A Barek, on Civil Engineering by Engr Washiqur Rahman, on Chemical Engineering by Engr Imran, an engineer from IEI, and on Mechanical Engineering by Engr Shams Ilyas. Many advices were offered by each of them. Their experience and preparation for taking the tests for technical capabilities they described what aroused interest and amusement to audiences. In between snacks, drinks were offered. The seminar was conducted by Engr Dr. Kazi Monzure Khoda. Beside many young and enthusiast engineers, many senior engineers were present and showed interest to event like this. Event concluded following presenting certificates by IEB QC Executive office bearers to engineers who were in panel discussion.
