Does the new PS3 Super Slim has a loose HDMI port?
Hi Guys!
It's my first time to own a console and I bought the new PS3 Super Slim 500GB bundled with the Assassin's Creed III game in Lulu Hypermarket. Everything seems to be working fine when I tested the unit, until I decided to buy an HDMI cable to improve the quality of the display. Now, when I tried to move my PS3 with the HDMI cable attached to the TV, the screen suddenly made a white noise, sort of an interference and sometimes loses signal. I found out that touching or wiggling the end of the HDMI cable attached to the PS3 HDMI port causes this problem. Without a second thought, I returned the same to Lulu Hypermarket, as it is just 2 days old. They tested the unit on their own TV and HDMI cable and noticed the same problem also. So they gave me a new unit as replacement. I never bothered asking them to test the replacement unit thinking that it might have been an isolated defect. Last night, I tested the replacement unit, and to my surprise, it's still having the same problem, only this time, it is not as sensitive as the first unit which I returned. Now, I'm thinking, is this normal for the Super Slim PS3? Actually, without touching the cable near the port, it is working fine. But if I tried to lift the cable at a certain angle near the port, then the problem shows up. I bought the HDMI cable 1.5 meters at 35 QRs only. I thought it was the problem, but as I tested it using my laptop connected to the TV, and tried wiggling the same, it's still working fine. Because of this, I'm having these options in mind:
1. Return the unit and ask for a replacement of the same model;
2. Return the unit and ask for a replacement of an older model (PS3 Slim) based on the idea that this might be a defect common to most of the new Super Slim models;
3. Keep the unit thinking that this is just maybe normal for most of the PS3 units, but facing the dilemma that it might get worse in the long run (problem becoming more sensitive even in the slightest movement in the cable).
Any thoughts or having the same experience about this? =)
Any suggestions would be very helpful!
Thanks in advance! =)
