iphone 4 downgrade

I have Iphone 4 IOs 4.0.1 and baseband 01.59.00, since the new 5.1 is still thethered can I upgrade to 5.1 then downgrade to 5.0.1, jailbreak and unlock again?

ps: i'm not even factory unlocked, phone comes from england.

You can downgrade u just need to search over google the Firmware that u need and download it, be aware that the firmware version must be compatible with the version of your Itunes. Do some thorough research first before downgrading.
