Problem with Samsung Cell Phone

I'm about to throw my toys out of the cot. I have just bought a Samsung phone and all of a sudden today I cannot make calls or send text messages. I can receive calls though. I also brought a Samsung phone from South African and the exact same thing happened. Now I have TWO samsung phones that do the same thing. I checked with Q-tel and there is nothing wrong with my number. Someone took out my sim card and put it in their phone and they could call out. There is no instruction on the phone as to what to do about this problem, so once again I am chasing my tail in this place.
Can someone PLEASE help me before I run screaming into the desert like a mad woman ...

Press the keys *#0082* then 'send' key this will unlock the transmission and u can make calls.
I have the same problem with my samsung phone. :(
try thz... in ur phone there is one option will be there like...
restore orginal phone settings or restore factory setting try that.... before that try to copy ur contacts...
Take the phone to a reputable dealer and ask them to check your call settings, or try yourself looking at the network settings and make sure they are set to automatic.
a dealer should be able to sort the problem very quickly.
