I am moving to Doha and I want to know if my PS3, which I bought in the USA will work in Qatar. I know that my PS3 is 110v and Qatar is 220v, but I think I read somewhere that the PS3 has an internal regulator. Is that true? Has anyone had experience with that?
My son brought his over. We needed to use a voltage step down transformer (available at Carrefour), but the games worked fine. No idea about playing DVDs as we never used it for that.
Please take note that there is no "Regulator" on your PS3, buy a Power Converter from 220V input to 110V Output, Your PS3 games will work here as it is Region Free but not on BluRay Movies, US movies are REgion 1 while here in ME its REgion 2 and also on DVD movies.

I don't know if it has an internal regulator, but you can buy a power convertor for $15-$20 USD.
