Bird traps confiscated by authorities

Some 20 banned bird snares were recently seized by the inspectors of the wildlife section at the Environmental Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment (MoE).

The snares were equipped with gadgets that  produce the sounds of nightingales singing, to attract the birds and trap them, reported Gulf Times.

The ministry had earlier banned such equipment and practices because of the damage to the local environment and the ecological system.
