Heat- Can go up to 50 Centigrade

Dust- No rain, demolition and digging everywhere. Even finished road need to be dug three times a year.

Slavery-I can hold your passport and you need freedom pass (exit permit) issued by me only to leave.

for instance, cases like heero_yuy2 are exceptions to the rules of freedom. I have a great admiration for sacrifices she does for her family as probably many mothers do, obviously the decision is depending on the family factor which is tougher.

...to 'get used to it' might have something to do with the kind of work you do here. I'm sure for you, cynbob, the education system here is way different from what you knew in the States. For me, healthcare is waaaayyy different from what I was used to. I have gotten used to some things, though, but there are other things I'll probably NEVER get used to. I've gotten used to how people drive here; I'll never get used to those damned shopping carts (trolleys) that have a mind of their own. I got used to seeing people wearing winter coats when it's 60 degrees Farenheit, but I'm not used to keeping my knees and shoulders covered when I'm out in public (I do it, though). I'm not even going to try to get used to the heat and the humidity because I already know I won't be able to.

it takes maximum 6 months to adjust in Qatar , getting used to it . Then either you choose to stay or leave.

Heat , Dust and Slavery.

You always have the choice.

...I think the QL veterans forget that they didn't always know everything about Qatar, and all of its little idiosyncracies. Furthermore, there are always newbies coming on board who just might appreciate the little tidbits of information. Stop being so nasty when somebody states what is obvious to you; it may not be to somebody else.
