Let’s not waste water and electricity
Do you know that Qatar is one of the world’s biggest consumers of water per capita? Yes, this country consumes water four times as much as many European countries and 10 times more than many other countries in the world.
Kahramaa, Qatar's electricity and water supplier, has an ongoing campaign called Tarsheed to encourage and empower everyone in Qatar to make their homes, workplaces and lifestyles reflect a sustainable, efficient and environmentally friendly nation.
Water and electricity has been consumed and wasted without a second thought in Qatar that the state has come up with a huge fine for wastage of both water and electricity. (You could read more about it here)
Hence, with the hike in water and electricity charges and wasting them a punishable offense, here’s a list of some ways that you could conserve water and electricity.
1-Do you use LED bulbs at home? You better start stocking up on some, for the energy saving bulbs use around 80% less electricity than the normal incandescent bulbs.
2-Have you got the habit of keeping the tap running when you brush or shave? You could easily close the tap and save some water.

3-Daylight is the best source of light. Avoid switching on the lights at home or work during the day time as much as possible.
4-When taking a bath, opt for a shower than filling the tub, for filling a tub requires at least 140 liters of water while a shower needs only around 30 liters. Also, go for a shower head with a maximum flow rate of 9 liters per minute.
A shower and tub uses up to 36% of the household's water consumption. #Tarsheed pic.twitter.com/D0LAHP4Vgm

5-Who doesn’t love some freshly baked goodies? But you could save some electricity consumption by avoiding pre heating the oven unless it’s absolutely necessary.
6-If you have a pet and you have to bathe it, the best way would be to bathe it outside in your garden. This way, the lawn will get watered as well.

7- Leakages can be annoying and also lead to water wastage. Figure out where the leakages are and fix them up.
Even a small leak can add up to a lot of wasted water & money over time. #Tarsheed pic.twitter.com/T89k4uW25W

8- Switch off the lights and all the electronic devices when you travel or even when you don’t use any them. For instance, merely turning off the TV with the remote won’t work for it still consumes electricity. Make sure you switch it off from the main power source.
9-Keep the doors and windows closed when the A/C is on. Leaving them open can increase the electricity consumption by about 30-35%.
Thermal insulation can reduce the energy consumption by up to 40%. #Tarsheed pic.twitter.com/wtDQBZbmEc

10-Finally, be mindful of water usage when you perform ablution. For hasn’t even the Prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) said, “Do not waste water even if you perform your ablution on the banks of an abundantly-flowing river”.

I don't worry about anything. I just laugh about it. Ha, ha, ha.
@wild turkey, just worry about your self. The locals deserve to have to free water and electricty,if you dont like it, then keep silent.
Put into consideration also the climatic condition which is the major cause of excessive usage of water due to dehydration. You gat to soak yourself in a filled Tub sometimes after a day work especially people that do not have cars

Shower with a friend - Saves water
My Qatari neighbor has his three cars washed daily with a Kärcher Steam Washer by his Filipino driver. Should I make a video and report him to the Baladiya?
