The Ministry of Municipality (Al Baladiya) has announced the opening of the eight new public and family beaches post-rehabilitation and redevelopment. The eight new beaches are now ready to welcome guests and fans for World Cup 2022. These eight beaches include Al Ghariya Public Beach (Al Shamal), Safa Al Touq Beach for families (Al Khor), Al Farkiah Beach for families and women (Al Khor), Simaisma Family Beach, Al Wakrah Public Beach, Al Wakrah Beach for families, Al Kharij Public Beach, and Sealine Public Beach.

The new beaches have been redeveloped and are fully equipped with the latest facilities and beach upgrades to improve the visitor experience. Sunshades have been set up for the public to enjoy the beach along with seats, shower facilities and umbrellas.

Kiosks have been set up for cafeterias, restaurants, and shops. Dedicated spaces have also been introduced for beach sports and games. There is even a lifeguard service on most of the beaches.

Restrooms have also been added and upgraded for family and public use.

Additionally, there are developed walking paths for public to access the beach easier. There are separate wheelchair paths for the elderly those with special disabilities at some of the beaches. Solar panels have been set up so visitors will enjoy solar lighting on the beaches when it gets darker.
