Any homeschooling parents out there?

My daughters high school is not offering any Humanities courses. So she will need to study history (or something similar) as s homeschooler. Does anyone know where I should start- resources,materials, guidelines,etc? She plans to go to University in the States, so the course should be directed with that in mind. Any advice out there?
