Giving the ad poster the benefit of the doubt, MAYBE:

- He/She is trying to be save any Filipinos from calling to inquire and saving the trouble of rejecting them.

- As the would-be lessor/landlord, he/she has the right to choose/prefer what nationality he/she wants to live with.

If you noticed, most of the ads for rooms and/or bedspacers are by Filipinos preferring fellow filipinos.

Other nationalities resent that too. That also created a few heated discussion here in QL more often that not.

Let's try not to be ALWAYS on the defensive side. As if we(Filipinos) are ALWAYS demeaned by others.'...coz we're not...we just think we are...

I couldn't live with anyone who isn't clean and smelling decently. It is funny how these habits can be cultural and I admit I probably couldn't live with people from cultures where bathing habits or laundry habits are so different from mine. Give me a Filipina housemate ANYDAY :-)

it's not a racism..

to live with people who are culturally compatible. It still is not nice, but I think it's quite common when selecting a housemate. They are probably thinking of cooking habits, lifestyle issues and similar attitudes towards housekeeping -- although I personally find Filipinas very compatible with me in those areas.

I think there is a difference between the two adverts..

The posting is tending on racism, whereas the listings from drac are preferences.

OK, in a perfect society this should not happen, but when you're sharing in close quarters , then perhaps you want to stick with "your kind"

drac, what you posted is different from the topic, accomodation-filipino only means all living in that villa are all filipino's that's why they are looking for a filipino to fill in the vacancy also but in the topic, it is saying that everyone is welcome except filipino. this guy who posted the sdvertisement has something against filipinos
