My wife and I are new to Doha and are expecting our first baby in May. We have heard of a group called Mums the Word, but know nothing about it apart from that. Can anyone give us some more info please?

hi Derek Haysom

i agreed with the above answer. iam also a member of this group 'Doha Expat Mums & Kids'. my baby gets to socialize with other kids while i get to meet other mums.

its worth checking out the website so u get more infos about the group. its a group of all nationalities and culture. you will meet lots of friendly expected and new mums. the website is well organize with a calender where you can find all the activities.

good luck to u and your wife.

cheers

haripot42 had a good suggestion as well. Novita is a great resource. Her Mums in Doha QL group can be found here http://www.qatarliving.com/group/mums-in-doha

You can also check out the Events section of QL for the Doha Expat Mums & Kids events.

Mums the Word is an awesome newsletter and will soon have a website as well. I don't have the details on what the website will be.

In the meantime, your wife should check out the new mums group, Doha Expat Mums & Kids: http://www.dohaexpatmumsandkids.com The group has an Expectant & New Mums Coffee that meets weekly, playgroups, a private website (in addition to the one above), a Mums Night Out and more. It's a great resource for parents and parents-to-be.
