I am working for construction company here in Qatar.

By May, my family will be following me here. My company is about to cover all of the expenses for their transfer here in Qatar.

I am thinking that beside my wife, who is about to take care of our two children, I want to sponsor my mother-in-law who can help us out once my wife can have a job of her own also here in Qatar, eventually. MAy be i can sponsor her transfer here by early next year 2010.

What are the main things to consider if you are going to sponsor someone, like your mother-in-law?

Can she stay here as well like us with a residency of say 5 years as long as permitted by Qatar Ministry of Interior?

Or she will coming for only a visit-visa?

How much does it cost to sponsor someone for visit-visa?

thanks

You must be a brave man!! Jokes apart. When you say sponsor, do you mean getting your MIL on a residence visa or visit visa? As far as I know, you can only get your MIL on a 1 month visa from the immigration near airport or a 6 month family visa at the immigration dept. Usually RP for MIL is not approved. However if its RP that you are interested in, go and try for yourself. I have been pleasently surprised everytime, I have gone there myself.
