*deedee* - question regarding Vonage
By Expat Sueño •
What did you do to get your Vonage working 100%? Ours is functional now, but only barely. It sounds like both parties are underwater, regardless of where the call originates.
I've adjusted my "bandwidth setting" in the Features are of my online Vonage account and I've restarted every piece of modem, Vonage and computer equipment that I own.
Qtel denies that they have anything to do with it, of course.
Any other tips? You can reach me directly through my group's website (I'm assuming you know what it is).
Would have PMd you but it's not "on" in your profile.
Thanks,
ES
Thanks, deedee.
Touch wood, I may have worked it out. I was on the phone with Vonage for quite a while today. They confirmed that our bandwidth was too low and our latency was too high. . .and that Qtel (hello Qtel, are you listening?) had mucked around with the available bandwidth in Qatar.
They were able to adjust my "packetization" and I did have a clear (normal) call tonight. Fingers crossed that it stays that way, though I'm not holding my breath.
I called Qtel today as well (before things cleared up) and they continue to claim that they're "still trying to locate the problem". Whatever, Qtel.
Sounds like you did everything necessary.
We simply did as everyone suggested:
Logon
go to features
adjust bandwith: from 90 down to 50 or 30.
Worked for us.
Sorry don't know what else to tell you to do.
Good Luck
Good idea to use Skype to call them. Will do!
Thanks!
Vonage customer service . . . best way use skype and they will stay with you in the line and tell you what to do.
I know the feeling of not having a working vonage :-)
thanks, Sim.suZ!
Did you call Vonage customer service or Qtel customer service?
Thanks again. . .I'm desperate for a good connection!
we actually faced the same problems with our Vonage.
Did you call the customer service because they did something while we have been talking to them on the phone.
Than after 2 days it worked as before.
Good sound and good connection.
